This photo has been on our fridge for a long time. He is 5 years old here. Isn't he the CUTEST?!! |
This photo is from our visit in December. |
In February of 2013, we saw his sweet face for the first time (above left),,,and now he is LEGALLY our son!!! We found out a couple days ago that sometime within the past few weeks the Haitian Judge signed the Adoption Decree stating we are Wisly's Forever Parents!
We exited IBESR on December 7th but then we had all the office closings during the Christmas / New Years holidays. So my friends, THAT.WAS.FAST. I'm pretty confident that was the first fast thing that has happened in this process, but we'll take it! We'll find out later when the decree was actually signed, but the important thing is, he is our son.
Lord willing, and IF the rest of the process moves forward efficiently
and with no problems, he could be home in a few short months!!!
(His 9th birthday is in mid-May--wouldn't it be an extra amazing and special miracle if we are able to celebrate his birthday together??!!)
Dear Ones, please PRAY with us that God protects every remaining element of the paperwork and process here until the end (you know, the ol' devil doesn't want him coming into a Christian home!). These last few steps of the adoption can be the most "tricky" of the entire process--lots of opportunities for paperwork errors, misplaced documents, you name it!
Please pray for Wisly's heart to be strengthened and encouraged for the day we can go get him, and for his health and daily protection.
Please pray for God to prepare our family to welcome Wisly into our home as son and brother, so our home can be a place of safety, security and unconditional love and acceptance.
Please pray for God to help us have the strength, determination and creativity to raise the approx. $13,000 needed to complete the adoption (Gulp!), and for HIM to provide any money we are not able to raise!
Oh I love this! Here is a prayer from a fellow adoptive mama. She shared this in a special Haiti prayer group, and I am praying this right along with her:
"Dear Lord, motivate the staff working at all levels of the adoption process.
Provide them with the needed resources to do their work well.
To focus, to not be distracted by anything.
To do their jobs correctly.
To find answers to questions.
To make progress.
Protect them, our children and us.
We give You the glory and honor.
Make us strong and help us to wait well, if the delay is Your will,
But if not---FIGHT FOR US!"
Thank you, ALL OF YOU, who have walked this journey right beside us and continue to do so. You are the most special kind of Blessing to our family!
